This CAN-SPAM Policy describes how Smarterblast's email blast service aligns with the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act and what we require of customers who send email through us.
What CAN-SPAM requires
The CAN-SPAM Act sets rules for commercial email, including accurate sender information, honest subject lines, identifying messages as advertising where applicable, including a valid physical postal address, and honoring opt-out requests promptly.
Our commitments
- We support accurate "From," "To," and routing information so recipients can see who sent the message.
- We require a working unsubscribe mechanism in commercial campaigns and process opt-outs without undue delay.
- We provide tools to include a valid sender identity and physical mailing address.
Customer obligations
- Use truthful header and subject information — no deceptive or misleading lines.
- Identify the message as an advertisement where required.
- Include a valid physical postal address and a working unsubscribe link.
- Honor opt-out requests promptly, and within the timeframe required by law, then stop emailing those addresses.
- Do not email purchased, harvested, or non-consented address lists.
Opt-outs and suppression
Unsubscribe requests are processed and added to suppression so they are excluded from future sends. See our Opt-Out Policy for details.
Monitoring
We monitor for abuse and may pause or refuse campaigns that appear to violate CAN-SPAM or carrier/provider rules.
